Since February, over one million applications have already been filed for the 2023 green appliances subsidies, and around 1.3 million inefficient outdated refrigerators and air conditioners have been replaced. This subsidies project has reduced an estimated 760 million kWh of residential electricity consumption and 386,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). At 75% completion rate, the project still has quota for 425,000 appliances, and MOEA urges all interested consumers to catch the opportunity.

With reorganization of MOEA and to enhance cybersecurity, the official website of the subsidies project has been updated to https://save3000.moeaea.gov.tw on September 26. This year, online application was more popular than ever since it minimizes paperwork and simplifies the application procedure, and according to the Energy Administration, around 80% of applications were filed online.

The Energy Administration further reminds that, whether applying online or by mail, citizens must provide their contact information, such as mobile number and email address, in order to receive notices in case the documents they provided are insufficient or more documents are required. Once they receive notices, applicants should follow instructions to upload supplementary documents before the specified deadline. If applicants have any questions, please visit the official website https://save3000.moeaea.gov.tw or contact customer service 02-29559666. To prevent phishing attacks, do not click any suspicious links.

The Energy Administration also suggests that applicants must ensure all supplemental documents (proof of identity, bankbook, prior electricity bill, receipt that includes product model number and sales details, warranty card, and proof of completed recycling from the EPA) meet the requirements before submission so to avoid possible resubmission of documents. For instance, documents should be scanned or photocopied clearly, the warranty card is for outdoor unit rather than indoor unit, and the address of the electricity bill should be where the appliance is installed.
