1. In July, 1968, the "Energy Development Group" was established and became a subordinate under the International Economic Cooperation and Development Council of the Executive Yuan.
2. In January, 1970, the "Energy Development Group" was renamed the "Energy Policy Deliberation Group" and became a subordinate under the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
3. The Government formed an energy authority under the Ministry of Economic Affairs following the promulgation of the Energy Policy in Taiwan Area on January 11th, 1979.
4. On November 1st, 1979, the Energy Commission under the Ministry of Economic Affairs was formally established.
5. On January 20th, 2004, the Act of the Organization of the Bureau of Energy was promulgated by the President's order. On July 1st of the same year, the Bureau of Energy was formally established.
6. On June 7th, 2023, the Act of the Organization of the Energy Administration was promulgated by the President's order. On September 26th of the same year, the Energy Administration was formally established.
