The industrial sector approximately consumed about 34% of the total energy in Taiwan. According to Article 9 of Energy Administration Act, the large energy users whose electricity contract capacity is beyond 800kW (about 4,800 users) have to set up energy audit scheme and energy conservation target. The Bureau of Energy (BOE) targets on saving 1% of electricity from 2015 to 2019 for all large energy users. In addition, it also provides energy saving service to 400 users per year to assist large energy users in discovering potential for saving energy.
